Week 3

This week I got a request from a good friend of mine to do a vegetarian-friendly recipe. My older sister has been a vegetarian for years now and that has always inspired me to try new things and learn to make incredible meals without using animal products. I tried to be a pescatarian several times, but somehow I always end up eating meat again. Oops. Nonetheless, I support and love the lifestyle and I try to always be very conscious about where my meat comes from and how it was raised and processed. I think this is also a great time to recommend that you watch Forks Over Knives and Food Inc. on Netflix just to educate yourself a bit further and become more aware of what you're putting in your body.

This week I will be featuring a vegan dish, tofu spring rolls. These aren't the deep fried and crispy spring rolls that may first come to mind, but instead, the fresh type, in clear rice wrappers. The ingredients are fairly simple and I hope you enjoy the tutorial video.

Along with that, I will be doing a tutorial for an iced green tea-chata, which is basically an iced green tea latte, but I mixed almond milk, french vanilla creamer, and cinnamon with vaguely reminds me of one of my favorite drinks- horchata, which is an authentic drink made with rice milk and cinnamon. I order something similar at Starbucks, just ask for an unsweetened iced green tea, substitute water with a milk of your choice (I typically choose coconut milk) and one pump of cinnamon dolce syrup. If you like it sweet, you could omit the "unsweetened" part and I'm sure it'll be even better. I personally can do without the liquid cane sugar. I highly recommend both of these awesome recipes.

In addition to that, this week's Feel Good post will be all about getting to know yourself better. It is important to know yourself and love yourself inside and out so that you can in turn love others more fully. When you are able to accept every single part of yourself, you are able to do the same for others.

I encourage you all to try these recipes at home and tag me in it on Instagram so that I can see your creations. Thanks again for all the support.

Let's get sizzlin'!
